Unexpected Costs of Birthing a Book

My book, Reimagining Our Tomorrows: Making Sure Your Future Doesn’t SUCK, was released yesterday. Which also meant that yesterday marked the beginning of the REALLY BIG BOOK PROMOTION TOUR.

To kick things off, I was invited to speak at an event on sustainable tourism at a beach town not too far from my home in Central Florida. I talked about how they could use the power of imagination and foresight to become a leader in the future of sustainable tourism.

I met some wonderful people including a couple of folks from the community art gallery. This morning before heading back home, I stopped by the gallery. And wouldn’t you know it, I saw these beautiful sculptures that I just had to have. It was like they were waiting for me. So sure enough, they’re headed for a spot on the wall and I’ve come back from my first event richer in friendship, community, and art.

So, if you’re part of a group that might be interested in a conversation on how storytelling and foresight can help your community create a better tomorrow, give me a shout. You don’t have to be in Florida. The next stop on the Optimistic Futurists Tour will be Vancouver, BC.

I promise to bring some lively conversation and provocative ideas, and I’m very likely to take home some of your local art.
